T/HS272/21 - Mirror Steering System of the MAST-U EBW system

This is a PIN for the design, manufacture and assembly of a mirror steering system for use in a vacuum vessel. The scope of this PIN is to outline the concept design and requirements for the mirror steering system in preparation for a formal bid process, and understand the capability and capacity of industry, via supplier responses, to undertake the future project. The EBW launcher is part of a plasma heating and current drive system that involves microwaves being directed into the plasma at a specific set of angles. The microwave beam enters the Vacuum Vessel from a specific port, and then is reflected through two sets of mirrors before injection into the plasma. The first set are fixed and are not part of the scope of this PIN. The second set of these mirrors is to be steerable.
