• Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA)

• Independent Care Act Advocacy (ICAA)
• NHS Complaints Advocacy (ICAS)
Children Services have a statutory responsibility to provide independent advocacy support for any young person looked after by the Council

Once appointed, all independent advocates should be expected to work towards City & Guild - Level 4 of the National Qualification in Independent Advocacy within a year of being appointed, and to achieve it in a reasonable amount of time, and to maintain the qualification once achieved.
