Title attributed to the contract: Replacement Forensic Case Management System
Description:
Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS) intend to procure a replacement Forensic Case Management System (FCMS) which will allow the RSSS Departments to effectively manage, record and report on a full range of activities relating to forensic examinations. This will be a critical system in delivering Scientific Support Services across West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire and Humberside. The current FCMS (Socrates) is one system with multiple modules used by several RSSS departments and staff across the four forces. The current solution no longer meets the needs of RSSS. The contract is due to expire on 29th March 2022 therefore it is an opportune time for RSSS to review the requirements, take advantage of new emerging technologies and innovation and to future proof the next generation of FCMS . The primary function of Regional Scientific Support Services is to: • Attend and examine crime scenes, reporting findings and exhibits recovered. (24x7x365) • React to requests from Officers and CSIs by assessing and triaging the request against scene details, the potential for a positive result and budgetary requirement • Examine fingerprints, Footwear and DNA within the RSSS back office bureaus • Provide enhancement services for fingerprints and footwear • Provide Imagery services such as; E-FIT, Body Mapping, specialist photography and CCTV recovery. RSSS are intending to procure a solution which can be accessed from the four forces of the YatH region. It is envisaged the system should also have the ability to extend geographically and incorporate other business areas or forces should there be an expansion to the regional structure.
