Title attributed to the contract: PROVISION OF COACH & DRIVER HIRE SERVICES
Description:
The MPS is seeking to award a contract following a tendering process to a suitably capable Contractor for the Provision of Coach and Driver services for a term for 18 months. The MPS require the Contractor to co-ordinate and manage the provision of Coach Hire Services for use by the MPS in support of operational policing. The range of services may vary during the life of the contract. The current requirement to arrange coach transportation is dependent on the level of operational policing commitments which do not follow a set pattern. The typical sizes of vehicles are coaches and minibuses. There are several known peak periods each year when there is a requirement for coach hire, these periods include: • Trooping the Colour • State Opening of Parliament • Notting Hill Carnival • New Year’s Eve Celebrations • Other State Occasions e.g. State Visits The MPS require vehicles to support policing operations, which are generally pre-planned events but vary in nature and scope. The range of vehicles required will include sixteen (16), twenty-nine (29), fifty-three (53) and seventy-four seated coaches, usually single decked.
