Amongst other things, it allows you to navigate the Site easily. Its purpose is to tell our server that you have returned to a particular web page. It saves you time because if you personalise pages or register for access to a particular part of the Site, a cookie helps our Site to remember who you are. It also allows us to improve our Site because we can learn which parts of the Site are most used.

Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies, but you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, and then refuse the cookie when you receive the warning.
