    Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

    Lancashire Constabulary require cleaning services which include day to day

    general cleaning, specified additional services, ad hoc cleaning services and

    emergency cleaning services to custody and crimescenes.

    Cleaning services are currently provided at approximately 60 locations

    throughout Lancashire with a large variation in the size and complexity of the

    functions carried out there.

    All contractors staff working on Constabulary premises will be required to pass

    police vetting procedures

    The current cleaning materials stock, equipment and machinery is the property

    of the current contractor. Any transfer of stock ownership from the outgoing

    contractor to the incoming contractor will be a matter of negotiation between

    those two parties.

    It is considered that T.U.P.E Regulations will apply to staff affected by any

    transfer of undertakings associated with this contract.

    The contractor will need to have arrangements in place for the following:

    • The resolution of T.U.P.E issues relating to the existing staff and their

    potential transfer from one contractor to another

    • All staff to be vetted and in place with appropriate training and

    equipment

    • All IT and telephony requirements agreed and in place

    • Suppliers and sub contractors in place and fully aware of their

    responsibilities

    • Cleaning materials, equipment and machinery.
