Title attributed to the contract: Non-Housing Drainage
Description:
Leeds Building Services (LBS) on behalf of Leeds City Council are looking for one contractor to undertake the maintenance, responsive repairs and refurbishment of drains for non-housing (e.g. Schools, offices and commercial properties). Currently the Council has existing contractors in place to deliver this works. It is anticipated that the procurement will consist of one contractor to deliver responsive drainage works to non-domestic properties. Properties could include: Environmental Services (PC’s: Household waste Sorting Sites) Parks & countryside (Park pavilions; depot buildings; cafes; container units; chapels) Learning Skills and universal services (Early Start and youth – offices and children’s centres) Safeguarding, Specialist and Targeted (Children’s Social Care and Youth Offending – offices and residential homes) Libraries Culture and Sport (Heritage (Mills, Museums): Arts and Events (Town Hall; Millennium Square; Carriage works; Sport (Leisure Centres)) Asset Management (Small industrial units; Investment) Economic Developments (Markets) Highways (Depots) Adult Social Care (Residential Homes, Day centres, Training Centres, Offices) Multi Service Occupancy; Commercial Services (Vehicle Workshop; Offices) The average number of repairs undertaken a year within this area is 500 jobs. Leeds City Councils is obligated to make sure that the drainage system within the boundaries of these buildings are maintained and repaired, so as not to cause a health and safety hazard. If repairs are not carried out this will impact on the health and wellbeing of people who use these premises such as sewerage backing up into the buildings, the smell and gases which can cause respiratory problems. It is proposed that any new arrangements covering Maintenance, responsive repairs and refurbishment of drainage will be on an initial 4-year period. There would be an option to extend this at the councils discretion.
