As part of the Home Office Safer Streets Round 5 Initiative, Avon and Somerset OPCC is undertaking this procurement exercise to find a Supplier who can provide the following interventions to members of the Night Time Economy in Four Local Authority Areas in Avon & Somerset (Bath, North Somerset, Somerset, South Gloucestershire): 1.Bystander Intervention Training delivered to staff within businesses who operate in the Night Time Economy 2. A Sustainable Initiative that will allow Individuals, Businesses and other Members of the Night Time Economy to continue to develop their understanding and skills and embed the learning from the bystander training course into their own organisations beyond the life of the contract. (e.g. a train the trainer course). The overall intention of these interventions is to improve feelings of safety of women and girls in public spaces, and prevent and reduce violence against women and girls (VAWG). The following Service Outcomes are expected to be met over the life of the Contract: Feeling Informed - Participants of the training who operate within the Nighttime Economy must gain an increased understanding of the issue of Violence against Women and Girls, its root causes, and how to recognise its forms in day-to-day scenarios applicable to the Night Time Economy. Feeling Empowered - Individuals completing the training should feel an increased responsibility, confidence and intention to make interventions, applying the learning from the training to real-life scenarios. Changing Social Attitudes to VAWG - Instil a ‘zero-tolerance’ approach to VAWG across members of the Nighttime Economy Sustainable Future Delivery - Individuals, Businesses and other Members of the Nighttime Economy will be able to continue to develop their understanding and skills and will be able to embed the learning from the bystander training course into their own organisations beyond the life of the contract to ensure this learning is not lost over time.
