Short description

According to the East Riding Drugs Partnership needs assessment, population data shows a clear association between drug-related harms and structural inequalities; hospital admission and A&E attendance rates for drug poisoning and overdose are both highest amongst individuals living in the most deprived quintiles of the East Riding. These rates are three times those in the least deprived quintile. The commissioning of robust drug and alcohol treatment and inclusion health services is a huge step toward reducing these health inequalities, and reducing pressures felt elsewhere in the wider health and care system.
