Title attributed to the contract: Grimsby Creates Public Art Strategy
Description:
North East Lincolnshire is a Priority Place for Arts Council England and an Area of Focus for National Lottery Heritage Fund. NEL is at a pivotal point in our creative journey following investment in the Borough largely by the Grimsby Creates funding (CDF) which has acted as a catalyst for greater collaboration. Examples of this can be seen with Lowercase Theatre developing a new network of young creatives, cross sector collaboration between The Culture House and the renewables sector and Our Big Picture developing international partnerships with the support of the Imperial War Museum. In addition, substantial investment in the Horizon Youth Zone (Onside) and major town centre redevelopment will see major changes in the physical landscape of Grimsby and Cleethorpes. The outputs of this work will play a vital role in highlighting the role of the creativity in delivering these transformative changes. The Authority is seeking to appoint a Provider to develop a Public Art Approach for North East Lincolnshire to enhance the borough’s cultural offer, visitor economy, skills and talent retention, wellbeing and civic pride. We are specifically seeking help with drawing together the existing public art knowledge, understanding public art’s place in the newly developed Creativity Strategy and the future of public art in the borough.
