Description of the procurement

United Utilities (UU) have a number of automated sites run through Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), which run on different versions of software dependant on the PLC manufacturer. The majority of UU PLC’s are Siemen’s which run on SIMATIC. We also have a small amount of other PLC’s such as from Rockwell and GEC GEM80’s, however GEM PLC’s are currently being replaced as part of Digital Services Projects. These sites are dependent on the PLC’s and coding to enable automation on site.
This scope of the current agreement is to allow for the design, supply, configuration, testing and commissioning of Systems Integration software which allows the company to control the automation on site while providing standardisation and consistency on our sites ensuring that all software is created and amended in line with our standards and specifications.
The current framework agreement forms one of the Company’s mandatory kit frameworks which any third party will use to deliver projects on behalf of UU.
