This service is split into 2 lots and will be commissioned to undertake the following:
Lot 1 therapeutic counselling for Children and Young People (CYP)
Lot 2 therapeutic counselling for CYP which provides culturally specific interventions to meet individual needs and address social issues supporting Black, Asian, Minority, Ethnic and Refugee Communities (BAMER). This will offer a perspective for issues faced by the individual including cultural barriers, confusion and identity.

Description of the procurement

Deliver an intervention aimed at providing a public health approach to reducing the impact of serious violence on young people and the wider community.
Provide therapeutic counselling services for CYP aged 10-25 years who have been a victim, perpetrator or otherwise affected by serious violence and/or exploitation.
Therapeutic counselling services to be trauma informed and include cognitive behavioural therapy identified techniques and principles, and/or eye movement de-sentisization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and/or dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) (as per the UK NICE guidance for therapeutic support for children).
CYP who are still traumatised and therefore at risk may require a different therapeutic intervention focusing on reducing threat and establishing safety prior to re-processing therapy.
Therapists delivering counselling must be either BACP or UKCP registered with continuous professional development.
Clinical supervision should be provided for all therapists.
Providers should have the capacity to work with up to 40 service users per year.
Provide flexible methods of delivery including face to face, online and telephone appointments across the geography of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Provide a confidential, non-judgmental environment.
Ensure a service level agreement of initial contact within 2 days of receiving a referral.
Provide/offer weekly contact with progress/impact reviews on a 6 weekly basis to capture an interim assessment.
Provide/offer a minimum of 12 weekly sessions with baseline and end assessments.
Provision of group work that is age appropriate and risk assessed.
Ensure that the service and therapists have a sound knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence/exploitation alongside their therapeutic training.
Demonstrate strong links with statutory and voluntary settings with mechanisms for both inbound and outbound referrals, acknowledging that individuals may benefit from additional wraparound support with alternative specialisms.
Offer a mechanism for self-referral by CYP.
Commitment to working to the local authority safeguarding guidance and submit any safeguarding concerns on a multi-agency referral form. This process will be closely monitored.
Commitment to take part in an independent evaluation, as requested by the NNVRU.
