Description of the procurement

Thames Valley Police as the authority is interested in suppliers that can provide a software application for use on existing Force mobile devices to enable the safe and secure acquisition of specific, small-volume, consent-based digital evidence from a witness or victim mobile device at-scene, removing the need for a device seizure. We are not seeking to procure separate hardware devices as part of this requirement.
The software application must be able to acquire data using a variety of transmission methods (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB etc.) from a variety of mobile devices (including but not limited to iOS and Android). We require the ability to verify, validate and audit the method of digital evidence acquisition, catalogue and create notes pertinent to the acquisition, and the ability to create reports to be output in a universal free-reader format.
We are looking to procure this mobile phone software application to support our Frontline Officers, Crime Scene Investigators and Support Teams with their at-scene work across the Thames Valley and Hampshire regions, with the view to this software application being rolled-out to 500 Force mobile devices.
Information gathered from this pre-tender market engagement activity will assist in the development of an internal business case to accompany a bid for future funding.
