The centre for Remote Applications in Challenging Environments (RACE) is a subdivision of the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) based in Culham, Oxfordshire, UK.
RACE is to develop and deliver a Hot Cell facility for the European Spallation Source (ESS) which is under construction in Lund, Sweden.
This Prior Information Notice aim is to engage with the market to assist UKAEA with budget planning and value engineering, for:
• PIE Lids – these are simple sets of stainless-steel clad, carbon steel structures to form the floor of the Maintenance cell
• PIE Hatch Lid – this is a mixture of stainless and carbon steel structures to form the floor of the Maintenance cell
• Waste Transfer Hatch Lid – this is a stainless-steel clad, carbon steel structure to form the floor of the Maintenance cell
This market enquiry relates to the ‘build-to-print’ manufacture, assembly, testing and transportation of the ‘Lids’ to the Active Cells.
