Greater Manchester Police are seeking expressions of interest from companies able to Supply, delivery and after-sales support for a 5.56mm Compact Carbine (also referred to as “weapons” and “rifles”). Greater Manchester Combined Authority are inviting Tenderers to submit bids for the Greater Manchester Police led Framework
Authorised firearms officers (AFO) are a professional team of officers suitably equipped and trained to provide specialist firearms support to the Force(s). AFO’s are also trained in surveillance, VIP escort and protection, rifle support, specialist method of entry, advanced firearms medic and firearms instructors.

This competitive procurement exercise is to establish a framework agreement for use by multiple separate contracting authorities.
Other forces
In the United Kingdom there are 45 regional police forces and 4 national special police forces under the jurisdiction of the Home Office,
Greater Manchester Police forms part of the North West region of police forces, along with Cheshire Constabulary, Cumbria Constabulary, Lancashire Police, Merseyside Police and North Wales Police
The Authority is conducting this procurement exercise with the intention that this framework agreement will be open for use by all police forces in the UK.
In addition, the framework will be open for use by other police forces and policing organisations in the UK. It is intended that this will also encompass any statutory successors to the named forces, as well as other crime and policing bodies in existence or created as a result of government re-organisation during the life of the framework.
