Cybercrime continues to be a significant threat to the UK and its citizens. A national programme was implemented in 2017 to build local force specialist cybercrime units with a key benefit to increase the cyber skills of officers within these units.
A gap analysis has been undertaken and identified that TeamCyber UK have a fundamental need to understand neurodiversity. As a team of professionals providing a national specialist capability it is recognised they require the skills and abilities to achieve best evidence from witnesses, suspects and victims though an understanding of their unique qualities to assist in the prevention and detection of crime.
