Short description
The PCC for Merseyside is allocated grant funding by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for victims’ services. The funding is anticipated to continue into 2020/21, although the level of funding will not be confirmed prior to the commencement of this tendering process. The grant will be issued to commission and/or provide and develop victims’ support services, including Restorative Justice (RJ), for Merseyside.
Restorative Justice (RJ) is the process of bringing together victims with those responsible for the harm, to find a positive way forward. It can provide a means of closure and enable the victim to move on. RJ also provides an opportunity for offenders to face the consequences of their actions, recognise the impact that it has had upon others and, where possible make amends. In this way, RJ has the potential to help rehabilitate offenders and enable them to stop offending.
