Short description

GMP requires a contract for the supply and delivery of equine bedding, and the provision of a subsequent waste collection and disposal service.
GMP has an establishment of 20 horses, stabled at a single site in South Manchester. The bedding currently used at the stables is a chopped rape straw product, however tenderers are welcome to submit a bid for an alternative product type, as long as the proposed product meets the requirement of the specification.
Each week the Mounted Unit generates between 5 and 10 tonnes of stable litter, comprising approximately 75% bedding material and 25% horse manure.
It is the preference of the Authority that the waste is disposed of by sustainable mechanisms, such as composting or gasification. Disposal routes other than landfill will be given preference in the evaluation.
