Description of the procurement

The Authority as the contracting authority is tendering for the Provision of a Community Mediation Service for Birmingham. The OPCC (office of Police and Crime Commissioner) is seeking through this tendering process to award a contract with a suitably capable organisation to provide these Services for a term of 24 months.
Following a significant increase in serious youth violence, gun discharges and murders, frequently associated with gang issues, the Police and Crime Commissioner commissioned a review that resulted in the community developing a report with 24 recommendations that would respond to the situation. The report, Uniting to Improve Safety developed a number of new approaches to preventing this situation from escalating further, and as a result, the OPCC seeks to procure a service provider for the delivery of high-risk community mediation and community resolution services in Birmingham. The service provider must demonstrate a proven track record of the provision of conflict management or experience in a similar field.
