Greater Manchester Combined Authority, as the contracting authority for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), seeks to create a framework agreement for delivery of services to maintain police firearms ranges; including deleading, annual deep cleans and repair or replacement of materials.
The Authority intends to award framework status to a single supplier, and for police forces to be able to direct award a call-off contract which meets their own specification. The resulting framework will be available for other police forces in the UK (listed at https://www.police.uk/forces/) to access.
The successful provider will be required to deliver cleaning services to the standards defined in the “Handbook of Police Range Safety, Volume 2”. The provider is also to ensure full compliance with current Control of Lead at Work (CLAW) Regulations for all work undertaken within the ranges and the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005, regarding all waste disposals from the ranges.

Description of the procurement

Greater Manchester Combined Authority, as the contracting authority for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), seeks to create a framework agreement for delivery of a service to maintain police firearms ranges, including the deleading, annual deep cleans and repair or replacement of materials.
The Authority intends to award framework status to a single supplier, and for police forces to be able to direct award a call-off contract to that supplier for delivery of services which meet their own specification.
This tender is being conducted on behalf of GMP and forces in the North West Region (as outlined below) but the resulting framework will also be available for other police forces in the UK (listed at https://www.police.uk/forces/) to access:
1) Cheshire Constabulary
2) Cumbria Constabulary
3) Greater Manchester Police
4) Lancashire Constabulary
5) Merseyside Police
6) North Wales Police
The terms of the framework require the successful provider to deliver the cleaning services to the standards defined in the “Handbook of Police Range Safety, Volume 2”.
