Description of the procurement
NHS Arden GEM CSU on behalf of NHS England (The Contracting Authority) is inviting suitable organisations to tender for the provision of Integrated Healthcare Services at Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre. The scope of the services will include:-
- GP services
- Nursing services
- Mental health services
- Substance misuse services
- Therapies (podiatry and physiotherapy)
- Optometry
- Pharmacy and Medicines Management
- Sexual Health & Genito Urinary Medicines
- Health Promotion and Prevention
The estimated annual contract value is £1,864,788 per annum.
Yarl’s Wood is an immigration removal centre in Bedfordshire which mainly accommodates women. There is a clear need for the healthcare service provided to detainees to operate with compassion and objectivity in relation to the position of the individuals who are held at the centre, at all times and in all circumstances, advocating for them and ensuring that the health needs of vulnerable people are placed first and centrally with partners and championed at all times.
