Short description

The Authority is seeking to tender its requirements in respect of installations and maintenance of Appliance Bay Doors. This contract will seek to identify a Contractor for potential installations (not guaranteed but any replacements will be identified annually and quotations sought), but predominantly maintenance (planned preventative and reactive) of new and existing doors/shutters/barriers across the Authority's estate which is located in the counties of Devon and Somerset.
The majority of the contract is concentrated on the appliance bay doors. However there are a number of 'Other' doors/barriers/shutters which also require maintenance and have been included within this contract.

Description of the procurement

Scope of the procurement shall include:
1) Supply, installation and warranty maintenance of new appliance bay doors to existing premises
2) Supply, installation and warranty maintenance of new appliance bay doors to new premises (potentially under sub-contract within a wider build contract)
3) Preventative and reactive maintenance of existing appliance bay doors, and any new doors once warranty maintenance has expired.
4) Preventative and reactive maintenance of other door assets which shall include but not be limited to; DERV fuel tank roller shutters, entrance barriers, fire shutters for servery counters, automatic doors, and automatic gates, and any other similar/related assets agreed and varied into the contract during the life of the contract.
The contract shall provide: Supply, deliver, installation, warranty maintenance, planned preventative maintenance (including legislative servicing), reactive maintenance, and repairs.
The contract has not been divided in to Lots. The Authority has considered its position and where previous contracts for these goods/services/works have been divided into Lots, it has been noted that issues have arisen resulting from different installation providers to maintenance service providers. As such this contract shall be issued as a single Lot.

This is a three (3) year initial term Contract. There is an Option to extend this Contract by up to 24 months at 2 12 month intervals. Option to extend will be at the discretion of the Authority with written agreement of the Contractor during the final year of the initial term of the Contract. The Optional extension is valued approximately £280,000.00.
