Short description

The London Borough of Camden (‘the Council’) in collaboration with the London Borough of Islington and Kingston Clinical Commissioning Group are seeking to set up a framework for provision of Drug and Alcohol Planned detoxification services The aim of the drug and alcohol treatment system is to reduce dependency on substances and associated harms, ensure better access to treatment and recovery services, create opportunities for those impacted by drug misuse to improve quality of life. The majority of adults will access community based interventions. However, for a small number of complex adults who have not been successful in community settings, managed access to inpatient detoxification is currently advised in relevant Guidelines (see tender documents ). The Guidelines recommend that access to these resources forms part of care planned service delivery. It is proposed to establish a framework for Detox with 24 hour cover; medically assisted withdrawal from opiates and alcohol.
