Description of the procurement

Northumbria Police owns 9 horses and 2 horseboxes which are to be kept at the contractors premises at all times for the duration of the contract.
Premises
The contractor shall provide the following premises dedicated to the mounted section as part of the contract:
• Premises should be conveniently sited such that the mounted section may be operationally deployed to any location within the Northumbria Police area within one hour of notification. This includes peak road traffic periods.
• Premises for the mounted section should be entirely separate from other equine facilities on the site. A separation distance of 10 – 20m should be maintained.
• Stabling is required for 9 No. police horses. Each stable shall be at least 3.66m x 4.27m x 3.35m high with minimum 0.91m clearance of the roof.
• Hay store
• Feed store
• Bedding store
• Tack room
• Lockers / changing / shower rooms for male and female police staff
• Briefing room / crew room for police staff
• Separate office for police sergeant
• Separate office for contractors personnel
• Kitchen for police and contractors staff
• Toilets for police and contractors staff
• Parking for 2 police horseboxes
• Parking for 12 police staff vehicles
• Access to pasture land and outdoor arena.
• Access to horse walker
All of the above premises shall be adjacent to one another.
