Short description
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Authority require the provision of Driver Training Services for Bluelight Emergency Driver Response Training including Co-Responder Driver Training and Assessments and Large Goods Vehicle Initial Training and Trailer Training to be delivered throughout the Wiltshire, Swindon and Dorset areas. The contract will be divided into 4 Lots at the Formal Invitation to Tender Stage of the procurement process, the shortlisted qualified providers only will be invited to tender. Bidders will be able to bid for more than one lot. The Contract is for a period of three years, with an option for the Authority to extend this for a further 12 months.

Description of the procurement
Lot 1 - This will cover the Wiltshire and Swindon Areas/Locations. The successful contractor must be able to provide a fully qualified Driving Instructor or Instructors, who have practical experience of driving emergency vehicles in an emergency situation. They need to comply with all legal requirements, other relevant legalisation and regulations, relating to the Services. The successful contractor will need to have an understanding of the Police Driving Standards, Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) Code of Practice/Emergency Response Driving 2008 and a thorough knowledge of “Road Craft”, the Police Drivers Handbook.
Price is not the only award criterion and all criteria are stated only in the procurement documents
