Short description

University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust requires a paediatric chemotherapy prescribing system to provide a hub & spoke model to allow electronic chemotherapy prescribing at UHBFT, & optionally, neighbouring (POSCUs Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Units) in a managed service. The system must have proven ability to provide functionality to promote standardisation in build and maintenance of paediatric chemotherapy clinical trials/protocols within southwest cancer network. The impetus for this project is the need to be complaint with recognised standards (to prescribe chemotherapy electronically) by September 2017 or risk penalisation for non-compliance. There may be future requirement for Adults Chemotherapy Prescribing System to allow synergies & efficiencies between the Adults & Paediatric Chemotherapy units. bidders are to include future optional modules in System Pricing matrix.

Description of the procurement

This project is for the provision of an electronic chemotherapy prescribing system to support the patient care activities of the of University Hospitals Bristol (Bristol) Trust, particularly the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) oncology unit and all relevant paediatric shared care units across the south west cancer network group. Contract term 5 years with renewal options following that at 2 years then yearly intervals up to ten years.
