The smoking cessation service is part of a broad, nationally recognised tobacco control programme, which also includes: • Smoking cessation in pregnancy scheme (includes incentive offer). • Work with major institutions to achieve Smoke Free status for their sites. • A programme of Trading Standards activity to tackle the availability and accessibility of cheap and illicit tobacco, to prevent children from starting to smoke and reduce access to age-restricted cigarettes and vapes. • Comprehensive communication and marketing campaigns (You are Strong Enough; Smokefree Homes; Closer Each Time; Smokefree Starts – It’s time to talk about smoking and mental health). • Programme of work with secondary and primary schools to educate teachers and pupils about tobacco and vapes. • Treatment of tobacco dependency in secondary care (QUIT).
