Family Court Pathfinder: Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) Grant 2025-2026

The Police and Crime Commissioners for North Wales have been approached by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to work with them as part of the Ministers desire to extend the existing Family Court Pathfinder. This expansion will now see the Pathfinder covering the Designated Family Judge (DFJ) area of North Wales. Funding will be provided by the MoJ and awarded via a competed fund managed by North Wales PCC. This funding will go towards providing a domestic abuse support service-referral pathway as part of Pathfinder. Pathfinder requires that domestic abuse support providers undertake Domestic Abuse, Stalking a Honour Based Violence (DASH) assessment with victim-survivors referred to them by Cafcass/Cafcass Cymru and provide in-court IDVA support to those who need them. Local discretion can be applied in terms of any additional services the domestic abuse support service may provide.
