Invitation to SQ for: Blashford Tower, Major Works Project

I am pleased to invite you to submit an SQ for the above contract.
The London Borough of Camden (The Council) is seeking to award a contract for the provision of recladding works to the Blashford Tower block, together with associated works to the envelope of the building including full window replacement, renewal of flat roof, installation of a building maintenance unit, cladding the stair core to the building and replacement of brickwork to the underground level, including vents and louvers.
Blashford Tower is situated on Adelaide Road, NW3 3RU and although off the main estate is one of five high rise towers that are part of the Chalcots Estate. It was designed by Dennis Lennon and Partners. Construction was completed in 1967 and the tower (along with the other 4 towers on the main estate) was renovated during 2007 – 2009, including recladding that concealed the original in-situ façade walls. Blashford Tower has 19 storeys and 72 flats. The structure and design of Blashford tower is different to the other four towers. A similar major works project will be issued for the four similar tower blocks on the estate in May 2021.
With focus on fire safety, the Council’s objective is to get the best outcome for the building envelope replacement project in terms of design, specification, quality, value for money, methods of works centred around our residents and improved quality of life for current and future residents. The Council is seeking to appoint an experienced and appropriately qualified contractor to deliver a safe, compliant and cost-effective solution for this iconic tower block, whilst ensuring a resident focussed approach and helping devise best practice standards.
The procurement for this project is based on a two stage JCT Design and Build Contract with detailed employer’s requirements.

The Council does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Offer and reserves the right to accept an Offer either in whole or in part, each item being for this purpose treated as offered separately. The Council reserves the right to award contracts for the supply of the works described above and arising out of this procurement process, to more than one supplier.
Responses to the SQ criteria must only be returned through our electronic system no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday 11th March 2021. No other form of offer will be accepted.
Your response must enclose all required documents and respond to all Qualification questions (if applicable) through our electronic system only. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in your offer being rejected.
Please note, any page(s) in the tender document that require a signature must be printed off by the Provider, signed in the appropriate manner and scanned. The Provider must upload the scanned signature page(s) with their submission.
