NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGEM CSU) are undertaking a market engagement exercise on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSEI) and the Clinical Commissioning Groups who comprise the NHS commissioning bodies as well as potentially Local Authorities in England, in the form of a short questionnaire to gain market feedback from experienced Managing Agent Contractors for Clinical Waste services. We are looking at options for Managing Agent contracts to support the commissioning bodies in managing, monitoring and improving services: • provided by Waste Producing Sites (predominantly GP Practices and Community Pharmacies) to ensure regulatory compliance and good industry practice. • in the delivery of the services required within the Clinical Waste Contracts, ensuring that the contractual commitments are met by the Suppliers. The core objective of the Managing Agent is to support operational and contractual management of existing, new and future clinical waste contracts as well as support data collection and analysis of waste volumes. Further details on the main aims and objectives for a Managing Agent and details on current Clinical Waste Contracts by region are detailed under: • Appendix A - Managing Agent Aims and Objectives • Appendix B – Primary Care Clinical Waste Contracts by Region
