PCC/PD/048 - WIRRAL CUSTODY SUITE Improvement Works

Wirral Custody Suite is a self-contained building located at Cavendish Street in Birkenhead The property will be vacated for the period of the contract. Merseyside Police does not have to conform to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, and as such retains the right to refuse access to Police premises to any person who has a spent conviction. The Authority is seeking reputable contractor to undertake refurbishment work to the custody suite, the works are to include the following: • Replacement CCTV system • Replacement Cell Call system • Installation of an affray alarm • Replacement charge office desk with acoustic screening • Upgrading of existing cell doors • Alterations to modesty screens within cells • Alterations to existing cell ventilation systems including duct work. • Alterations and upgrade to existing electrical systems (small power and lighting) • Deep clean of the cell duct system and filters • Application of an approved floor coating to the entire suite • Bespoke fittings within the medical room The anticipated costs for the works detailed above is in the region of £800,000.00. Contractors expressing interest in this work are reminded that the work will need to commence on site on and be completed and handed over on as detailed in timetable
