Peninsula Dental Social Enterprise CIC (PDSE) was founded in 2013 and is responsible for running four Dental Education Facilities across the Southwest, with clinics in Exeter, Truro and two in Plymouth. Treatment is provided by a combination of The University of Plymouth’s Peninsula Dental School students (supervised by a team of qualified dentists) and a team of qualified employed dentists. These are supported by a dedicated staff team of dental nurses, hygiene therapists and clinical dental technician. There are currently 426 students, of which 336 are undertaking a 5 year BDS Dental Surgery and the remaining 90, a 3 year BSc in Dental Therapy and Hygiene. BDS students are required to undertake a minimum number of patients requiring various treatment types, many of which will require lab work.
