T-JC018-2025 - STEP-T-JC018-2025 - Paschen Breakdown (PB) Curves

UKIFS require PB curves which will determine the maximum voltage at which the STEP TF magnets can be discharged. This maximum voltage is a design driving parameter, and so is critical for the development of the TF concept. A series of PB curves is required, which will consist of breakdown voltage vs. gas pressure (or density x distance), including the effects of background magnetic field, geometry, gas type and gas temperature.
