To provide an independent person-centred advocacy service. The Council has a statutory responsibility to commission Independent Advocacy services, in meeting Independent Advocacy statutory duties and to provide the necessary advocacy provision in accordance with the relevant legislation and demands for advocacy in Doncaster as follows: a) Mental Capacity Act 2005, Mental Capacity (Amendment) Act 2019 - IMCA - Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy b) Mental Health Act (1983 as amended 2007) - IMHA - Independent Mental Health Advocacy c) Care Act 2014 - Independent Care Act Advocacy d) Health and Social Care Act 2012, Section 223A - Independent NHS Complaints Advocacy e) Care Act 2014, Sections 67 and 68 / The Care and Support (Independent Advocacy) Regulations 2014 - Generic Advocacy
