There is a growing need across all organisations for increased digital skills, with West Yorkshire having seen significant growth in the digital and tech sector and a growing skills gap, this is an area of concern. The programme aims to address under-representation within the digital/tech industries, supporting the local and regional digital skills gap and supporting upcoming growth areas specifically in healthtech.
A Skills Bootcamp specialising in Advanced Digital Skills is required to work with a wide range of employment sectors across Wakefield District. Wakefield ICT graduates are not equipped with the relevant specialist coding skills that employers are seeking for a modern, fast paced working environment.
A Skills Bootcamp aimed at individuals seeking a career or progression in the construction industry as Site Operatives across the Wakefield District is required. The skills and knowledge gained will provide participants with the core competencies to work in this role and to build a strong foundation from which to build a confident and competent construction operative.
A Skills Bootcamp which is aimed at developing skills in green technology is required within the Wakefield District. This is aimed at supporting participants to gain the necessary knowledge to understand the green skills agenda in engineering and automation including the introduction of new technologies such as decarbonisation.
A Skills Bootcamp aimed at those seeking employment as an LGV driver is required across the Wakefield District. This is a sector of employment with significant labour shortages and participants will gain the skills, knowledge and qualifications required to gain employment including the mandatory medical and driver theory course.
