To the qualification
Barnsley Council is seeking providers who will provide a robust training course focusing on preparing participants to volunteer or work with young people within their communities. The training program must be suitable for adults over the age of 18 years who are not in work, ie unemployed or economically inactive, and live within the Barnsley area. The program must inlcude a recognised qualification, ie Level 2 in Youth Work with mentoring and training support provided by suitably qualified staff, ie JNC qualified staff. The training and qualification must be completed by December 2023.
The accredited training must provide a good basis for anyone wishing to work with young people. As well as classroom based learning it is expected that participants will use the information and skills developed during the couse in their work in community settings.
The training is financed through ESF Sector Routeways and is expected to last longer than the usual 2 week sector programs.
