Directors of Public Health have a statutory duty to produce an annual Public Health report to demonstrate the state of health within their communities. It is a major opportunity for advocacy on behalf of the health of the population and as such can be extremely powerful in raising awareness within the community, sharing best practice with colleagues, and providing necessary information for decision-makers in local health services and authorities, on health gaps and priorities that need to be addressed. The preferred agency will provide consultation and advice on the design and format options for a media product and short written report. They will provide project management to oversee the production of the report and to coordinate the Public Health specialists to create the content for the report. The agency will also carry out engagement with older people, where necessary, to gather insight into the chosen topic. This will form the basis of the media product (likely a short film) and associated short written report.
