2859-2023 - Digital Examination Kiosks

South Yorkshire Police (SYP) undertake forensic examinations of mobile devices at a local (District) level via Digital Mobile Examination Kiosks. This enables SYP officers and staff, who are trained, to undertake forensic examinations of data held in mobile devices which have been involved in criminal activities. This local District provision reduces the low-level examination demand on the Digital Forensic Unit. SYP have confirmed their commitment to their ongoing requirement for the Kiosk provision and have identified the need to maintain the current 9 locations with up-to-date and supported devices and associated licences.
