The Police and Crime Commissioner for Warwickshire seeks a provider of an Appropriate Adult Service for Vulnerable Adults in response to requirements specified in the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) 1984, whereby the police Custody Sergeant or a supervisor at each designated police station or an agreed site has the responsibility under PACE Codes of Practice (Code āCā and Annex āEā), for deciding whether a detained person may be deemed to have a mental health problem, leaning disability, etc. Where this is the case, the Supplier will be contacted to supply a trained and qualified Appropriate Adult to attend and provide assistance in line with requirements of PACE. Although the AA Supplier is required to communicate and interact with the Police operationally to ensure the day to day service delivery, the AA service contract is independent from the Police and will be managed by the OPCC directly to ensure independence. This is a further competition via YPO DPS Framework 1015 Appropriate Adult Service.
