Requirement – Kent To commission the Kent Victims Advocacy and Support Service, which must be able to accept referrals from victims of crime in Kent, regardless of whether that crime has been reported to the Police or when it took place and provide high quality, needs led, evidence-based support. The service must accept automatic referrals from Kent Police and other sources such as British Transport Police, other organisations and self-referrals. Effective initial contact and immediate support must be provided, alongside casework for those individuals with greater or more complex needs. The service must provide support via a variety of safe methods, with the offer and subsequent delivery of support taking into account the needs and risk of the individual. Requirement - Essex The provision of assessment, referral and non-specialist support to victims of crime in Essex. In practice, this involves receiving crime referrals from Essex Police (as well as other sources, including self-referral), assessing each individual case to determine the level and nature of support required, and providing that support, normally either practical, emotional or advocacy, or referring/signposting individuals on to other, specialist services.
