The advances in forensic science DNA and fingerprint technology has led to the criminals becoming much more aware of these techniques and consequently taking the required precautions to avoid detection. In order to stay ahead of the curve it is therefore the forces aspiration to embark on a targeted approach to property marking and target hardening using forensic marking kits so that any property stolen can be easily identifiable, leading to the successful identification arrest and conviction of the perpetrators who commit these crimes and handle the proceeds from them. This tender is seeking to identify the supplier for what will be an incremental approach over the next few years to target harden identified areas where crime has taken place or is likely to in order prevent and detect these offences. The ability to identify property and persons involved in these crimes and have this converted to evidence that is admissible in court in a timely cost effective manner is a vital component of the tender process.
