PCC/PD/078 - Vulnerable Victims of Crime Services

The service provider will be required to provide the following to vulnerable victims of crime: Provide an accessible advocacy and support service to vulnerable victims of crime enabling them to access the criminal justice system or other services which they may feel excluded from, unable to navigate or overwhelmed by the process Act as a Victims Champion, supporting victims using a holistic approach according to their need, offering emotional and practical support as appropriate. Support victims who are engaged with the criminal justice process and those who choose not to engage. Empower victims and develop their understanding and confidence in the criminal justice system so that they can engage at a time that suits them. Receive referrals from Merseyside Police and/ or other agencies, and respond in a timely manner. Work in partnership with, and make referrals to, other specialised support services e.g. domestic violence services, housing services, health services, target hardening services, trading standards etc.to ensure the additional needs of any victims are met and the impact of victimisation is addressed. Participate in community meetings and act as a community voice by providing impact statements etc.
